In 2017, the MIT Media Lab invited finalists for the Disobedience Awards to MIT—recognizing those engaged in extraordinary examples of ethical disobedience.

In early 2018, we launched the Oceti Sakowin | Solve Fellowship. Six projects were selected, which bring renewable energy and food accessibility to the community and contribute to economic prosperity and sovereignty.
The inaugural cohort of fellows attended Solve at MIT in May to present their projects to business and government leaders.
And this week, those six fellows presented their projects during Solve at Standing Rock.
Solve at Standing Rock celebrated and lifted up this innovative sustainability work currently being done in Indian Country.
MIT Solve, Oceti Sakowin members, corporations, nonprofits, government officials, and academics came together on the Standing Rock Reservation in North Dakota and highlighted the Fellows and their projects.
