David Delmar Sentíes is an activist, author, and artist.
He's the Founder and Executive Director of Resilient Coders, a highly competitive, free, and stipended nonprofit coding bootcamp that trains people of color for high growth careers as software engineers, and connects them with jobs as such. Resilient Coders has been recognized by the White House in 2016, featured in TechCrunch, Fast Company News, Boston Globe, Boston Herald, BostInno, Bay State Banner, NPR, NECN, Xconomy, and other news outlets.
He's an author, currently writing a book with Beacon Press called Power and Resistance: The fight for economic justice in tech.
He's a speaker, advocating for a vision of the workforce in which people can earn money at a level that is commensurate with their talent and work ethic, not their parents' wealth.
David has been the recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award from Boston University’s College of Fine Arts. He has been identified by the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce as one of “Ten Outstanding Young Leaders,” an honor he shares with Leonard Zakim, John Tobin, and John F. Kennedy, among others. He has also received acknowledgements from the Mass Tech Leadership Council, and Harvard Business School’s “Young American Leaders Program,” which is an effort of its US Competitiveness Project. David is especially proud of having been recognized by El Planeta, a local Spanish newspaper, as an influential member of Boston’s Latinx community.
