Anne E. Sartori

Anne E. Sartori is a Research Scientist at the Sloan School of Management, MIT. An expert on international security and the use of game theory and statistical methods in the study of politics, she is the author of Deterrence By Diplomacy (Princeton University Press, 1998), as well as research articles on the role of diplomacy and the strategic use of information in international relations and the use of statistics in the study of politics. A scholar of wide-ranging interests, Sartori is currently exploring an interest in biostatistics. She has served on the faculty in the Political Science/Politics Departments at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Princeton University, as well as (tenured) at Northwestern University, where she also held a courtesy appointment in the Kellogg School of Management. Prior to entering academe, she worked as a Legislative Assistant to Hon. Thomas M. Foglietta (D-PA). She received her B.A. in Political Science from Yale College in 1988 and her Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 1998.
