Carminia Muñoz

Managing Director, Social Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Teach For America

Carminia’s career has been focused on working directly with individuals to help them overcome barriers by bringing them vision, connecting them to opportunity, and translating across cultures and experiences. Carminia brings this orientation as the lead for the Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation team, which seeks to equip current and emerging entrepreneurs with the skills and investments that help take their ideas to game-changing solutions. Prior to joining Teach For America, Carminia worked as an attorney in the areas of youth advocacy, immigration and employment law. She also served as the main Administrator for A Better Chance leading the process supporting students of color working to get into college preparatory schools nationwide. Carminia is a first-generation college graduate having earned her B.S. from the City University of NY - John Jay College and her J.D. from Quinnipiac University School of Law. She lives in Phoenix, AZ with her partner Robert and their jet setting toddler Stella.
