As SVP, Chief Data Scientist in McGraw Hill's School business unit, Dylan is responsible for developing and implementing McGraw Hill's global vision and strategy for data science and generative AI. He also leads teams that power personalization, metadata, data insights, innovation, and efficacy research in K–12. Dylan has done extensive research and development in next-generation assessment and giving meaning to learning-relevant data. He joined McGraw Hill in March 2021 with the acquisition of Kidaptive, the edtech company he co-founded in 2011.

Dylan is or has been a youth mentor, tutor, substitute teacher, rugby/soccer/baseball coach, and advisor in the startup, nonprofit, and private-equity sectors. He has been a MacArthur Emerging Scholar in Digital Media and Learning, a Gordon Commission Science and Technology Fellow, a Stanford Graduate Fellow in Science and Engineering, a Gerald J. Lieberman Fellow, a FrameWorks Fellow, and a United States Presidential Scholar. Dylan earned a bachelor's degree in Symbolic Systems, a master's in Philosophy, a master's in Statistics, and a Ph.D. in Learning Sciences and Technology Design (in the program for Developmental and Psychological Sciences), all from Stanford University.
