Megan Perna

Associate Director, Assessment, Curriculum Associates

United States

Megan began her career in education nearly 25 years ago as an alternate route teacher, evolving from a general educator concentrating on middle school literacy to a special education program director, with a particular focus on inclusion strategy for independent schools. Having worked as a contract item writer throughout her career, Megan finally entered the EdTech assessment space in 2018. Now an Associate Director of Assessment Design for Curriculum Associates, she is particularly focused on foundational literacy screening, dyslexia risk evaluation, alignment to the science of reading, and principled assessment design. In each of these areas, she is mindful of and motivated by a passion for justice-based practice, particularly around linguistically-responsive measurement and interpretation. Megan holds a bachelors’ in English from Dartmouth College and a Masters’ in Education Leadership from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education; she has just accepted membership in the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education’s 2027 doctoral cohort.
