Paul Falzone’s career focuses on media and social change. Prior to his current work, he taught at the undergraduate and graduate level and also designed a college major in Media Advocacy. He has presented at numerous international scholarly conferences and has published articles in peer-reviewed journals, edited volumes and reference books on media related topics.

In 2010 Paul left the academy and began working with anti-corruption organizations in Uganda to create guerilla media campaigns. In 2011 he founded Peripheral Vision International (www.pvinternational.org), an NGO focused on media innovation in East Africa. PVI’s projects include a weekly rap news tv show that is broadcast nationally in Uganda, Africa’s first puppet reality show, and a solar powered, motorcycle mounted microcinema that can deliver last mile media to remote populations.

Paul earned an MS in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from Nova Southeastern University, where his fieldwork focused on creating cross community media projects with former political prisoners in Northern Ireland. He also earned an MA and PhD from the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania, where his research focused on video and advocacy.
