Independent Consultant, Eklavya Foundation, Bhopal

Rohit Nema is an independent consultant with Eklvaya Foundation, an NGO working to ensure meaningful education to all students. Rohit started his professional stint as a software engineer but soon realized that his interest and motivation lies in the development sector. He chose education as his rally point and joined the Teach for India fellowship program to understand the graveness of problem of education inequity. While teaching for 4 years in low-income private schools and working in tandem with government schools in India, he developed a sound understanding of the ground realities. He then explored the possibilities of looking at this problem from a policy lens and hence joined a master’s program in public policy and governance. Rohit has been supporting Eklavya in designing and implementing the interventions for ensuring quality learning for all students. At the same time, as a researcher he is also seeking the ways of improving delivery of education from the supply side with special emphasis on public education system.
