Solution Overview

Solution Name:

Building for Generations

One-line solution summary:

Building home and all buildings that can withstand all of mother nature’s challenges in a more efficient way.

Pitch your solution.

1.Uncomfortable and unsafe homes that have to be fix and replaced constantly wasting energy and time.

2.Start building homes and buildings of all kinds that are energy efficient and can withstand life.

3.By saving people energy ,time and giving them peace of mind saves them money time and sanity to spend to advance humanity or enjoy life and with out the day to day struggles.

What specific problem are you solving?

I am working on the problem of the waste of time, money, materials and the technology we have to provide structures that are energy efficient, safer, minimize maintenance and can stand the test of time. On average roofs only last 20 yrs windows 15-20yrs appliances 10-15yrs (this includes your furnace and a/c units) some say just figure 1% to 2% of your homes value every year for maintenance expenses that doesn’t include the cost of replacing appliances, windows, roofs , flooring and of course natural disasters. Now include if you bought or built your home with cash no loans your biggest experience on average will be taxes and utility bills so why not build a home you get tax breaks on because it energy efficient and save on your utility bills(US average home spends a little over $2000 a year in utilities) for the same reasons.

What is your solution?

My solution to this ongoing problem is to build homes and all buildings using radiant heating and cooling systems paired with geothermal technology. Inside ICCF/ICF walls, roofs, and floors. Also to implement  fiberglass windows and doors and highly efficient appliances and solar power. Making an end product very feasible to heat/cool with great insulation on all fronts and windows and doors that won’t where out after multiple extreme temperature changes. Along with not trying to change the temperature of air(very inefficient) but of liquid for your source of heat/cooling from the earth. With a concrete build you have a bunker with the leisures of a home and is fire, wind, and water proof.

Strong preference will be given to Native-led solutions that directly benefit and are located within the Indigenous communities. Which community(s) does your solution benefit?

Many people of America are of multiple backgrounds from all over the world and in some cases such as myself (originates from right here in America as an American Indian) come from many backgrounds of different heritages and need to pass down history lessons and knowledge to help the future of all. To make a change in the world you must make the change at home so why not start building homes that can last and be passed down to for generations like the heritage of our ancestors to be learned from and help preserve the history that we desperately need to learn from. By building homes that help nature preserve energy and last for generations.

Which dimension of the Fellowship does your solution most closely address?

Other

Explain how the problem, your solution, and your solution’s target population relate to the Fellowship and your selected dimension.

My solution helps proved a better way to build and design structures. So family’s in poverty and middle class stand a better chance of growing and passing down wealth through there homes. Saving money through higher efficiencies so all that hard earn dollars don’t go right back to the people that already have money but to pass it from generation to generation and let it grow and improve.

More About Your Solution

Which of the following categories best describes your solution?

A new business model or process

Describe what makes your solution innovative.

My solution is innovative do to not because of the technology but because of the combination of technologies in to one utopian. To provide a sustainable comfortable environment that is lasts and doesn’t waste materials because it has to be remodeled or rebuilt every 20-30years. Someone once said when you plant trees you’ve started to understand the meaning of life so why not build structures for the same reason. Imagine not having to replace a roof and windows 3 times in your life or not having to pay $2000 a year in utility experience the money that could be saved and allocated to something more.

Describe the core technology that powers your solution.

The technologies I would like to implement in to my ideas are geothermal paired with radiant heating/cooling (no duct work in buildings), Composite Insulated concrete forms(ICCF) and Insulated concrete decking for walls floors and roof great insulating and durability. Solar for electricity to run all accessories. Fiber glass window and doors moisture rotten insect proof is durable and strong.

Please select the technologies currently used in your solution:

  • Ancestral Technology & Practices

How many people does your solution currently serve? How many will it serve in one year? In five years?

The possibility are endless given the right backing and education could serve community everywhere. Each structure built provides many people from different walks of life with same end goals with jobs and sustainable affordable living. It will only grow and multiply.

What are your goals within the next year and within the next five years?

By year end a functioning example and planning many more. In 5years have communities all over implementing and using the ideas.

What barriers currently exist for you to accomplish your goals in the next year and in the next five years?

The biggest hold ups as of now are lack of funds and possesses of developing a plan that is not used in the building in the world regularly yet.

How do you plan to overcome these barriers?

I will continue to research and apply how others have accomplished there goals and adjust my plan accordingly to achieve mine in the time frame given.
