What is the name of your solution?

NANOV SHIELD

Provide a one-line summary of your solution.

Development of antiviral sustainable Eco-friendly solutions.

What specific problem are you solving?

With COVID there there was a huge requirement for antiviral applications ranging from PPEs to surface coats. Most of the material are not Eco-friendly in nature and not bio compatible. Nor there is any kind of ,manufacturing methodologies that are facilitating such products in the market which has lead to more and more products being made out of non ecofriendly materials. Henceforth we are proposing to solve this issue by providing the materials and the manufacturing methods that can be implemented through distributed economy model. Also we have developed anti-viral coating and paint additive that can be used in a hospitals, public spaces etc. which reduces the issue of growing anti- bacterial/ viral drug resistant variants.

What is your solution?

We are employing coupled solution approach where we provide solution to various issues through single point solutions. We have developed a anti-viral concoction that can be made into non-woven fabrics, can be added to paints or directly be applied onto surfaces, used in packaging and as a laminate. This will promote in creating a robust antiviral environment without causing any adverse effect also specially for the non-woven fabric segment, we are constantly working on cost effective machinery that can be used by SMEs and give rise to more jobs through this.

Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?

Our solution directly has a positive impact in public health  and job creation. We tend to start with creating eco-friendly materials especially used in healthcare sector so that not just to provide anti-viral characteristics but also are bio-degradable in nature. This material will reduce the risk of bio-hazard for the waste management in countries like India where waste management is a huge problem. With the special machinery that we are developing to help in replacing materials such as polypropylene based non-woven fabrics for SMEs.

How are you and your team well-positioned to deliver this solution?

We have a team that consists of a chemical engineer, a mechanical engineer, and machine design/ production engineer. this gives us an advantage of developing our product at different levels and also making it available for others as a material for their business.

Why are you applying to Solve?

After Covid, the usage of PPEs have been exponentially increased which also created a issue of how do we dispose these materials without causing any secondary problems. Though there were no long term solutions, we thought of working on it where we were able to come up with a solution what could solve the non-woven fabrics problems. During this development process, we also realised that the current material in its form can slightly be altered and used in multiple applications such as anti-viral laminated, antiviral paints and surface coats. Though we wanted to make our own non-woven fabric , we realised that the current industrial setup are not rightly suited for this. But there were may who really wanted to use this material is their non-woven fabric and requested us to give a customised solution that they could use. Hence, we are working on the machinery that would we required for a distributed economy model.

More About Your Solution

What makes your solution innovative?

https://docs.google.com/presen...The couple approach for the problem ids very unique and very much required for sustainable development. The chemical concoction has bio polymers and natural extract which normally acquired through local suppliers hence we intend to have a positive impact right from suppliers to end users.

What are your impact goals for the next year and the next five years, and how will you achieve them?

We want to see a safe antiviral environment, with reduced dependant non- Eco-friendly materials. Our solution should give rise to distributed economy where more and more people can join hands and make it a success.

How are you measuring your progress toward your impact goals?

  • Through sales
  • Number new partners
  • Replacement of existing non eco-friendly products

What is your theory of change?

There is a need for better materials and solutions due to the rigid nature of industries the end consumer is not able utilise better materials.

Describe the core technology that powers your solution.

We have used polymer fibres infused antiviral active naturally extracted materials. The fibres are chemically engineered to be be very effective against virus without causing and damage to user and environment.

Which of the following categories best describes your solution?

A new technology

How do you know that this technology works?

We done tests in third party labs and the results are fruitful.

How many people work on your solution team?

6

How long have you been working on your solution?

From 2021

What is your approach to incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusivity into your work?

Our goal is also to create a distributed economy model where using our material people for tire 2 & 3 city people can also start their own ventures and earn without moving out of there home towns. due to the lack of sustainable solutions and cost effective nature of it has created a barrier. Also, the material used for replacement on non woven materials will have a huge impact on environment as they are biodegradable in nature and will not be left behind.
