Laboratoria
Training women in Latin America to answer the call for talent in the tech industry
The Solution
Millions of young women in Latin America face a lack of quality education and job opportunities, while there’s growing demand for developers in the tech sector. Laboratoria trains low-income women in Latin America to enter careers in tech, giving them both a rigorous technical education and soft skills that are crucial for comprehensive professional development.
Applicants are not required to have a college degree or computer skills upon admission to the five-month intensive program. Students are expected to pay for the program gradually and only after they’re working in the industry, at which point they’ll be earning over three times their previous salary. Laboratoria is continuing to expand their impact across Latin America, simultaneously supplying qualified talent and employing a too-often underestimated population.
