Basic Information

Our tagline:

Gives access to education and training to the Children with Autism through Remote Apprenticeship.

Our pitch:

In a developing country like Bangladesh, children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) virtually have no access to appropriate education and training. Even in the capital city, Dhaka, it is very difficult to enroll an autistic child them into a specialized school due to a limited number of seats, and an exorbitant amount of tuition fees. Outside the capital, the resources are more scarce and hence the situation is even worse. These children often need personalized training due to the unique characteristics of their brain development. However, there is severe scarcity of competent teachers and trainers for them in Bangladesh and most of the experts are living in Dhaka. As a result children with autism outside Dhaka are deprived of personalized education and training. This tragic scenario is also common in many other.  To solve this problem we proposed a simple and unique solution “Learning through Remote Apprenticeship (LRA)” - a unique way to connect a child with ASD to a trainer over Internet. This one-to-one connection will ensure personalized training for each child. LRA will build on the existing video conferencing platforms (Skype, Hangout, etc., for example) that will make a secure connection between the trainer and the remote learner. The matching between them will be done using sophisticated theories of personality matching and machine learning based on feedback data.

This solution can solve one of the major challenge of global health and education that can easily be replicated in various other conditions and settings.

About Your Solution

What makes our solution innovative:

This solution is particularly innovative because of its focus on personalization and interactivity that is often missing in the mainstream remote educational platforms like Coursera or Edx. Moreover, this solution is flexible enough to incorporate the local cultural values of teaching and learning by connecting the experts and learners from the same cultural setting. Furthermore, this intelligent platform quickly learns if a pair of expert-learners is working well, and acts promptly to ensure the best education for each learner, and the best teaching experience for the experts.

How technology is integral to our solution:

We use Skype and Facebook to connect teacher and students. Our online Platform gives the teacher to learn various new techniques and promote their creativity to teach their students with autism. Using the artificial intelligence we will select the best combination of the teacher and student from the database and also predict the best teaching approach may be for student.

Our solution goals over the next 12 months:
