BackedMe

One-line solution summary:

Bridging the gap by providing direct digital access to qualified mediators to make mediation a front end-use for day-to-day conflicts.

What specific problem are you solving?

BackedMe is addressing the negative effects of law enforcement presence in community-related disputes, and how utilizing law enforcement in these circumstances has potential harm to public safety. In various states, tracks have been laid with local community mediation centers and police-peer mediation, yet, research shows that such efforts have not produced enough mediator cops or adoption in center areas (https://www.pennlawreview.com/...) While states and precincts realize the critical use of mediation, trainings are periodical and not implemented for daily use by law enforcement to prevent harm. Without easy access to trained mediators, our communities suffer from intervention before damage is done.

Pitch your solution.

1. The use of mediation is underlooked and underserved as a way to reimagine public safety and cut out the direct use of policing or law enforcement in community-based disputes. Our platform creates one-stop access to mediation through digital technology, by fully integrating vetted and highly trained mediators to diffuse this tension and rebuild trust without the trauma of law enforcement, and solving through dialogues. Such as trained mediators in restorative justice and facilitative practices to reduce the perpetuating harm that results from law enforcement actions/presence.

 2. By providing professionals who are extremely skilled at de-escalating situations involved directly in community disputes conveniently, we can provide our communities quick access to mediators, not the police

3.  Adoption/Recommendation by stakeholders and local municipalities to promote communities' trust and support in our product.
