Girl Amplified is a website and app for creative women and girls to seek mentorship, education, and opportunities for personal and professional growth. The creative platform features polls, forums for discussion, resources for learning, and tools to amplify female presence in a male-dominated creative industry.

Our pitch:

The internet age is here and it is the next frontier. Imagine all the good we could do if every girl and woman could see just how much opportunity the world has to offer. Girl Amplified is that window to opportunity. As a basic function, users on the Girl Amplified platform can make their own profiles, upload a resume, post in discussion forums, and share industry news. The platform we build will encourage users to talk about their experiences so that others can learn, to use the platform to post and seek out jobs, get career advice, and to even become a mentor!

Girl Amplified is an online community-based website and app where women from all walks of life share their knowledge, advice, and opportunity for work and play. Girl Amplified is for women and girls aged 15-50+. By creating a place for females of all ages to connect and inspire, we hope that this platform serves mainly as a way to connect with people around the world - eliminating any perception of geographic limitations. With this brand we can connect mentors to mentees while improving self esteem and career outlook.

Girl Amplified will become a community organizer. Establishing local branches to work with community leaders, businesses, and entrepreneurs we will create an environment that is uplifting, positive, and works tirelessly to educate and amplify our female population. Moreover, Girl Amplified is built on intersectionality. With boots on the ground we will address the needs of a targeted population: homeless women, women of color, LGBTQ women, disabled women, mothers, immigrants, students, and women who are financially challenged.

Girl Amplified will create jobs, act as a system of support, challenge the status quo, and lead the way for future generations to participate and prosper in the economy.

Without opportunities to build community, mentorship, and connectivity, women in the creative industries cannot thrive. Girl Amplified provides a centralized platform for girls and women to grow - both personally and professionally. We believe that building this platform opens doors to create even better opportunities in our local and global communities. As a place for innovation and sharing ideas, Girl Amplified is a loudspeaker to call out issues in our economy and creative industries. Girl Amplified brings together creatives from around the world to solve problems on a global and local level.
